Pastor Mark Zimmerman
Mark was born in 1955 and raised in southern Greene County, Mo. He is a 1977 graduate of Southwest Missouri State University with a B.A. in creative writing. He married his beautiful wife Sandy in 1981, and the two have two fine sons, Jared and Evan. Mark worked at the Springfield News-Leader for 26 years, retiring in October of 2004.
Receiving a call to preach in 1998, he began pastoring in 1999, serving at the Village Church in Nixa, Mo., until 2005. TVC was a satellite church of Ridgecrest Baptist in Springfield. The church family began with 11 people and saw the membership grow to 109 members.
TVC needed a building, and Ozark Highlands Church needed a pastor, so the two bodies merged November of 2005. Now the church family is seeing God do an awesome work!
Mark is one of a rare breed - a banjo pickin’ preacher! He is proud to be an Ozarker and is ever so thankful God has allowed him the privilege of serving at OHC!
