Text: John 8:1-11

Love - to people - to God - A manner of conduct - how we interact with others

Not just how we feel, but how we deal

Dream - OHC where people deal in love - where people won't be hurt

Is this possible? So many hurting people! Yes! If we learn from the Master!

Jesus deals in love! Learn two things about love:

1) There is an assault on love

They sought to test the message of Christ

Mob/convergence mentality - Racing - Our faith is a race! Push ahead!

Legalism wants to usurp grace! It is very appealing to some

Look out for the double standard - People love to throw stones - Grand Marais - "If you mind your own business you won't have time to mind the business of others."

Love considers the shared problem - The pause of Jesus - Give God a chance before you say "let's dance."

Two stories - Steve Collier - The piano church split - Point - there will be hurt!

2) There is an approach to love

Jesus extends love - to all! He condemns no one! John 3:17

A) Remember yourself! Would you stone yourself?

B) Not accusatory - what's Jesus' style? The Opposite style: door slamming - harsh - "It's not what we do but how we do it"

C) Focused fully on the person - extend love

D) Love encourages and corrects - go - leave your life of sin - When sin is bared love is extended!

Conclusion

Show people love! Love must be fought for! It is an approach!

My dream is not just mine but God's too. God has called us to deal in love! Where are you today? Are you able to show people this love? This is our call in Christ!

Fight for the faith! Approach all people like Jesus does and you will deal in love!
