Text: Ephesians 2:1-10
SPLASH - Why? God's amazing grace! My story! From salvation to RBC
Have you seen God's grace? God's grace still saves! How?
1) God's grace loves the dead to life
V1-4 - The living Dead! This frightening reality!
Objects of Wrath - REMEMBER! Where you came from - where they are
How does God love the dead to life? Mercy!
1) Mercy is compassion and action - Good Samaritan
God's mercy is extended before judgment is exacted - James 2:1-13
2) The saved are objects of mercy! Romans 9:23 - We are the ministers of mercy!
3) Love covers a multitude of sins - kind, patient - My Mom and her dress
Have you seen God's grace?
2) God's grace lifts us above the haze to see God's ways
V1,5,7 - The haze is the world's ways
Raised with Christ - Power, newness, position, conviction, direction - ALIVE!!
Seated in heaven - We can see God's ways!
V7 - Purpose! To spread the wealth of heaven! Incomparable riches!
Have you seen God's grace?
3) God's grace is poetry in motion!
V8-10 - God's work! God's design! In you!
V8 - His word stirs your heart to faith! Romans 10:17
V9 - You have an incredible gift! Workmanship - get word poem
A work of art - or a piece of work? Why I'm big on credibility? I've seen too many blowhards in my day! Ever know the person who always one ups you?
God's grace is the incredible gift of God in action!
Fruit! Have you seen God's grace?
Conclusion:
Note the word "us" - 7X in text - we are the saved! The found! The objects of mercy!There is a terrible problem - I call it the "Festering of the found"
Define festering – "to undergo or exist in a state of progressive deterioration"
Internal – external – Church - dying or thriving – individual - white washed tombs?
This is why we are doing Splash, and I cry out to you to be involved with an open heart and mind - I've seen God's grace first hand! Have you?
