Text: Philippians 3:4-11
The question goes unanswered: “How do we live?”
Illustrate - A no contest confidence - Flesh vs. Faith - how things compete for our confidence.
Live with a no contest confidence!
How do I live this “no contest” confidence life?
1) Listen!
V7-8 - Hear what they say about Jesus!
A) Listen to the explorers – Paul - “Nothing matches meeting Jesus!” MY LORD!
B) Listen to the cause - “Sake of Jesus” - most important cause of all life!
Truth - Faith comes by hearing!
Position yourself to hear - then listen! Hear from the explorers!
How do I live with this “no contest” confidence?
2) Respond!
V8-9 - Place your faith in Jesus!
The virtues of the flesh cannot match the victory of the faith!
A) He is making the move to live! Christ is his goal! Gain Christ, found in Christ
B) Make your move! Arm around girl? Reallocation! Respond to the news!
Truth - ”Be doers of the word and not hearers only” - Jesus says you must be born again!
Righteous in Christ means what? The old account was settled long ago. Jesus with me!
How to live with a “no contest” confidence?
3) Experience
V10 - experience life as a sinner saved by grace!
A) I Want to know - me and roller coasters - deep down I wanted to experience the ride but was afraid! So many competing forces in our world - Save yourself mentality, count the cost
I want to experience life so I’ll experiment? Instead of experimenting, live experiencing!
How about experiencing a life of Power, The new creation! Romans 6:11
How about experiencing a life of fellowship! The yoke is easy!
How about experiencing a life of hope! My mansion!
