Text: Philippians 2:13
Desensitized olfactory system? Only smell food? Desensitized senses? Is it possible a believer can be desensitized to God?
The saved take God personal! Take God personal for the sake of the Gospel! Two Questions:
1) Are you giving God room to work in your life?
“For it is God who works in you . . .”
A) Consider this great wonder - God is in you! Can you imagine? Gal. 2:20: “in the flesh”
B) “Houston, we have a problem” - Self-centered - God centered - What makes you tick?
EMTs - “give us room to work!” In space - power, oxygen, pressure, heat, and water - God is my “Powerhouse.” Red sea splitting power! God is my source! Living enlivened! (To give life, action, or spirit to.) God is my scrubber!
What I write on my calendar and why I write it: The point! The goal.
2) Do you know where you are going?
“To will and to act according to His good purpose”
We are energized to go on the right path.
We (born again) are hard pressed on every side! Culture, Christianity, etc . . . “The many different paths option” - We are energized to go on the right path. Boy Scouts –trailing - God will lead, guide and direct your path - any other path and you are going in circles!
What is your goal?
Where are we going on this path? To fulfill God’s purpose!
A Child prodigy - yet never acting when called upon - We are called to evidence the action and behavior of the living God! Becoming more like Jesus to the glory and delight of our Father! We go for God’s delight and glory! Trusting and obeying.
Conclusion
Dude thinking he was called Judas. The idea that we might be seen as a betrayer causes us to be concerned. What about you? What’s God say about you?
“I can work here!” “They are on the right path!”
Today, give God room in your life, and know where you are going!
"Conviction of sin is one of the rarest things that ever strikes a man. It is the threshold of an understanding of God. Jesus Christ said that when the Holy Spirit came He would convict of sin, and when the Holy Spirit rouses the conscience and brings him into the presence of God, it is not his relationship with men that bothers him, but his relationship with God." - Oswald Chambers
