Text: Philippians 2:12

Sensitive - light, noise, looks, words - we take things personal! Tailgaters! God wants us to take salvation personal - for the sake of the Gospel!

For Christ’s sake, take salvation personal! How?

1) Take yourself personal!

How’s your P.H.? (Personal history)

A) Have you been faithful to follow? “Always obeyed” - Note the relationship between Paul and Church. There is love and trust.

“Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.”

Calling Hosea “Hoss” once - I was convicted because I knew he loved God’s people - And I had taken his sermons and applied them!

Do you only obey when watched? Work world - are you rebellious or repentant?

Do you apply the teachings and preaching? Reality at OHC - Heavy stewardship!

B) Are you diligent to dig? How’s your P.H.? How often do we start something with a flourish and then peter out?

“Continue to work out” - means to keep mining, and cultivating - What has the most value to you? To discover all God offers you or all the world has to offer? Keep on truckin’ for the prize!

What causes us to quit digging? Busy and lardy makes one tardy - be sensitive to the attacks of the enemy. He wants you out of earshot of the Word!

Keep on truckin’! Put a program together and take your salvation personal! Bible study, prayer time, serving the Lord, becoming the person of great influence that God has designed for you - Dig for Jesus and build a history!

C) Is there devotion and commotion? “With fear and trembling”

How’s your P.H.? Phobos and tromos: “The proper reaction to one’s awareness of our spiritual weakness and the power of temptation.” Soapstone cave experience - Should be screaming and crying out to God in every moment of our existence! ”If the LORD delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.”

Conclusion

“Sit on it, Potsie.” How many Christians are sitting on their salvation? Taking it for granted and living for themselves - Busy, lardy, and tardy? God says: For the sake of the Gospel, take your salvation personal! How’s your P.H.?
