A People with a Prayer

Text: Philippians 1:9-11
Grieving at Wal-mart - is there a prayer? A chance? A hope? Do you have a prayer?
God gives us a prayer! Spoke to my heart - does the Gospel have power?
We have a prayer! The church has a prayer!
You can be the person with a prayer! How?
1) A Person with a prayer will be deep in love!
V9 - ”your love” - “Knowledge-judgment”
You have the ability to love but must develop the know-how of love!
Know-how- training – learning - Learning a hobby or skill - putting together a model?
Cherish God’s word! Learn it - implant it! Love your enemies! Matthew 5:44
Judgment/depth of insight - moral correctness/political correctness
Crater Lake - could see way down deep!
Abounding love takes you where you’ll look beyond “Skin deep”
A deep love will gain Godly know-how and perspective!
A person with a prayer! Knowing/growing in the love of God! Having godly judgment!
2) A Person with a prayer will be able in love
V10-11 - “so that, may be, being filled”
The great truth comes out - You do what you are! Church do-do-do - Then that’s what people think (what you do is what you are).
Do the excellent! “Carefully identify the best course of action”
Not flavor of the month - Willing to take a risk? Trusting entirely in God? Desiring to honor/ please God?
Pure and blameless - A person of true integrity – Wholeness - inner and outer
A) Sincere - inner-examined by sunlight - w/o wax - Tested by God’s word – Hypocrisy
