Can I Get a Witness?

Text: Acts 1:6-11
Christians –different - Changed the world! 2 experiences – involved/not involved – ordinary/extraordinary – God needs extraordinary witnesses! “Can I get a witness!”
God empowers you to be His extraordinary witness!
How Can I be an extraordinary Witness?
1) By your Internal Explosion
V8 - “receive power when Holy Spirit comes on you” -dynamis - A) Jesus has sent the Holy Spirit – Pentecost
B) Go over scriptures – Final - 2 Corinthians 5:17 - ”Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
There is a change in you if you are in Christ! Values – hopes – behaviors – attitudes
God’s explosive power in you!
You have extraordinary life changing power!
2) By your external Emission
V8 - “and you will be my witnesses”
The change testifies! Husband leading the family to church! A love for God!
The immersion in God - testifies in growth - Bath tub wrinkles
The Dam – overflow - John 15:5: "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
Good news people carry power - Romans 1:16-17-2; Timothy 1:7-8
Would Ozark miss us if we are gone? Jesus doesn’t say witnesses in the church but in the world! This is the problem in many congregations
The light that shines farthest burns brightest at home!
What captures attention?
3) By your Eternal attention
V11 - “This same Jesus”
How we think - Head in clouds? Or a sense of urgency?
This is the greatest time to be alive! Jesus is alive! He is interceding - Providing and leading! He will return! Keep you attention on the need for salvation!
Do what Jesus says to do!
Now is the time to make eternal impact! God is stirring hearts - He needs a witness!
Conclusion
Powerless living or living as a powerhouse? Where God is growing you, where you are influencing others, where you are focused on the eternal!
God cries out today to you, “Can I get a witness!”
