Life Goes On

Text: Luke 23:32-43
Life goes on - but does it? God has made a way for your life to go on forever!
Thesis - Jesus Christ crucified makes life go on! Why crucify?
1) God’s love was exposed
V34 - Out of the heart the mouth speaks!
Jesus Christ crucified - in excruciating pain - expresses the love of God!
The cry of the Christ!
How’s your heart? Forgiven? Forgiving?
Imagine this - The one who drove the nails in heaven?
2) God’s lamb was slain
V35-40 - The worlds/Christ’s thought of saving
He had to die for them to be saved! Jesus is the Passover lamb! ”But this man has done nothing wrong.” God gives us the covering that saves! Sin had to be covered! Adam/Eve - Evil must be dealt with!
You have to be covered for life to go on.
My joy in these verses
3) God’s land was opened
V41-42 - Do you see the faith of the Criminal? By faith the land of God is opened! A heart changed! Savior! A hope assured! King!
”Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Life goes on – Paradise! Heaven!
Enter with me into joy!

LIFE GOES ON FOR THOSE WHO TURN TO JESUS! Jesus Christ was crucified! God’s love exposed - God’s lamb slain, God’s land opened! What will you choose? For life to go on? Or for death to come?
