Text-Luke 19:1-10
My Salvation – You - Has it come home to you? God can bring salvation home!
How does God bring salvation home? Through Jesus! How today?
1) Get in the way
V1 - Seeker - passing through on purpose - How? V3 - seeker - wanted to see - Barriers to seekers: stature? Wal-mart - I’m in everyone’s way! Everyone is out for themselves! Motive doesn’t match mouth! The gospel moves on purpose
2) Get to the point
V5 - Savior - knows you! Values you! Has a purpose for you!
The moment of Divine confrontation - Jesus isn’t too busy, too important, and too holy! The one out on a limb - or up a tree has value! Response is positive! The gospel calls to come down.
Opposition to salvation - off course - out of sorts - churches!
3) Get a status change
V8-10 -> Change Maker - what happened between V7-8 - He got to know Jesus! Recovery was made! The lost found! Z was different now!
When it came home to me! Others could see it! G. Campbell Morgan - “once mastered by the passion to get, now swept by the compassion that gives.”
The gospel recovers by power.
Conclusion
This week in neighborhood - Mormons, J.W. - they come to your home! They want to convert you! Religion is like an amusement park - “which ride will you get on?” The search for the next great ride?
