Busting at the Soul

Text: Psalm 103
“Praise God” - ever have difficulty with this? God has a Psalm that shows us how to be busting at the soul with praise! Because of who God is, he is busting at the soul with praise! Praising His Benefactor, his Father, and His King! How can we be busting at the soul with praise?
His Holy Name
1) Remember God your Benefactor
V1-5 - “forget not all his benefits”
It’s easy to forget! Appointments, dates - God’ benefits! This is when we experience soul drain! Our attention gets turned and twisted.
God is my Benefactor! Giver of good gifts! Soul’s forgiveness, healing, salvation - out of the pits!
My soul will soar! I have complete soul life coverage! No deductible!
V5 - No sour outlook - but an outlook with an eagles eye! I can see God!
A soaring soul is busting with praise! Is 40:29-31 - don’t forget!
2) Fear God your Father
V6-18 - Fear 3x - V11,13,17 - Condition to experience your father’s love - “The remarkable thing about fearing God is that when you fear God you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God you fear everything else.”
V7 - Made known His ways to Moses . . . Burning bush - God’s holiness revealed!
Love, mercy, compassion - limitless and vast! V6 - All oppressed - even you!
Stay fearful! Get on holy ground! Your soul will be blessed!
3) Praise God your King
V19-22 - Who’s your ruler? What Kingdom do you live in?
Declare the King of Glory! Jesus!
”Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.’” - Matthew 28:18
The day of declaration! Philippians 2:9-12 - Your soul will sing!
Conclusion
The soul drained life - “Praise ye the Lord, hallelujah.” The busting at the soul life? The life of benefits, love, and leadership! The life of hope, compassion, and joy. Start busting at the soul! Your God is a benefactor, Father, and King!
