Text: Proverbs 3:1-10
Gotten away from the key component! Values! Problem is trust. World v Kingdom - the fix? In God we trust, because then in you he will entrust! God will have confidence in you! He will commit to you! -Trust God and God entrusts. How do I trust God?
1) Have God’s ways in your heart
V1-2 - Remember and store God’s word in your heart!
Stressed or blessed - peace or turmoil – prolonged – prosperity - a life of peace
Matthew 6:33 - Those who trust will be entrusted!
2) Write God’s ways on your heart
V3-4 - Two ways are my eternal companions! Love and faithfulness - These are God’s ways!
The locket of God’s ways - You’ve carved God’s ways in your heart! V-4
Favor - a good name!
"This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word.” - Isaiah 66:2
God sees the truth! You will have influence!
”He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.” - Proverbs 21:21
Trust will be entrusted!
3) Trust God’s ways with all your heart
V5-8 - Look out for your opinion! There is truth and then there is opinion! The heart is a haven for evil - Jer 17:9 –10
”All a man's ways seem right to him, but the LORD weighs the heart.” - Proverbs 21:2
Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
You will be set on the path God has designed for you! Trust is entrusted with direction! And your body will be blessed!
4) Treasure God in your heart
What Jesus said about treasure - God is the heavyweight in your life!
Humility and the fear of the Lord bring wealth and honor and life. Submit to God! - Revere God! Trust God and you will be entrusted!
A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
A greedy man stirs up dissension, but he who trusts in the LORD will prosper. KJV - He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
How to fear?
”’Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.’” - Malachi 3:10
Conclusion
Problem? Trust! People playing dodge ball - decide this day who you will trust! "But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."
