Jesus Comes Through

Text: Luke 24:13-35
I used to love listening to am radio at night - come through – rarity - kind of like our faith? How’s Jesus coming through? Thought God was with you but something wrong happened? Jesus didn’t come through? The tomb is empty and Jesus came through! Hope restored!! He has come through for you, or has he?
How can Jesus come through for you today?
1) Go through life sticking together
These guys we followers of Jesus!
A) Hash out dashed hopes! They were emptied of hope! Have you ever felt that way? V21 - Hoped he would redeem - God didn’t deliver? Share hurts! V17 - Downcast - God did not come through
B) Expect the promise V15 - Jesus joins them - Even when you are wiped out, wounded, and worried, Jesus is with you! The promises of the Bible - Stick together - Jesus will come through! How will you come through? Together or alone? Stick together! The tomb is empty and Jesus came through!

2) Get a Clue card
God works in mysterious and amazing ways!
A) V16 - kept from recognizing Him - You will not always be able to recognize God when he arrives! This is where trust comes through!
B) V25 - slow of heart to believe - Thick skull! Face the facts about yourself! Slow to get it! Stubborn as a mule - We take pride in that!
C) V32 -The scriptures are coals of hope! The more you hear the hotter you get!
Wait until you hear! Give them some scriptures - God is with you - the scriptures inspire you - get a clue card - Jesus will come through! He is alive! The tomb is empty and Jesus came through!
Jesus is coming through here at OHC! Why? Grace!
3) Offer Grace
Kindness and blessing will allow Jesus to come through!
A) Stay with us - follow your heart’s burning! That is to offer grace! Kindness, hospitality!
B) V30 - gave thanks, Grace is recognizable - When Jesus broke the bread to feed the five thousand - Offer God’s table grace! Thanking God - blessing others - Jesus will come through! True Christian behavior is a rarity – restaurants - Do you give grace?
Look what happened! V33 - Hope restored! The tomb is empty and hope is full! They can say He is risen INDEED!
Conclusion
God has come through for you and you can see Jesus! I invite you today to see Jesus come through for you!
