Packin’ Prayer

Text: Luke 22:39-45
We all need to be packin’! Living in defeat or living in victory? What is it Christians are to be packin’? Remember context! The fight for life! Jesus instructs us in the prayer of victory. How can you have the prayer of victory?
1) Make way for prayer
Place and space - as usual - Make it your custom!
2) Stay prayed up
Stay up so you won’t fall in! Prevention because of intervention.
Sorrow - our grief, our struggles - Remember “God is faithful!”
”No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” - 1 Cor 10:13
The enemy is resourceful.- Stay prayed up!!
3) Keep your prayer perspective
Surrendered and submitted. Kneeled - asked - “You can ask for a change but remain unchanged.”
Exodus 32:10-14; 2 Kings 20:1-6; Lord’s Prayer
4) Expect the heaven sent
Strengthening - the strength to press on in prayer.
Remember the promises of prayer! “You have not because you ask not.”
Even in times of great struggle - Pray through!! Matthew 7:7. God will reinforce your prayers!
Conclusion
V45 - ”He rose from prayer” - on to the cross - Jesus was ready to take the cup. The fight for life! He won the greatest victory ever! Victory over death! We can live as more than conquerors! Victorious instead of defeated! Start packin’ prayer today! Fight for life!
