Jesus Is the Main Course
Text: Matthew 8:5-13
Grand Canyon - I’m in awe! I am amazed every time!
Jesus is astonished about something – Faith -great faith or lack of faith - Mark 6:6 - "everyday faith" or "astonishing faith"
Jesus is the course for the cure! How do we make Jesus the main course?
1) Ask for the hurting
V5 - “asking for help” Faith cares! It must start with your close ones. The course of faith intercedes on behalf of those who are hurting! Somebody’s praying for me?!
Look how Jesus responds! V6 - He is ready to intervene regardless!
2) Believe in the healer
V8-9 - “just say the word” he believed in the authority of Jesus! Without doubt or question! The bible is clear on this truth! Are you clear on it? Colossians 1:15
Believe he is the healer! Believe he is the master! Matthew 8:23-27 - The providence and power of God!
Look how Jesus responds! V10-13 - ”I have not found..”
You’ll be present for the main course! Your hope in heaven is secured by faith! You will come to the table and feast with those of faith! Preach our hope!
Jesus will answer you! Did the centurian have a picture or vision in his mind of what Jesus could do? How Jesus can heal? Was it firm? Was it sure? Did he fully expect Jesus would? Why do we not see astounding things like this? The phonies? James 1:5-8 - Jesus will set us on course!
The issue is clear. Is faith to be found? Or is it lacking? Today make Jesus the main course! Get on the course for the cure!
