A Firsthand Faith

Text: Hebrews 11:1-6
One word that describes you? Us? God blesses the report of a firsthand faith – Authenticity - How’s your faith reporting?
1)Be secure in your salvation!
V1-3 - security - sure and certain - I’m sure of my salvation and my savior - Sure of God’s ability, word and promises
Insecurity - be relevant - Look to the ancients – David, Daniel. Trusted and obeyed God’s word and promises - Be relevant
How does this report? People observe you making choices contrary to the norm.
Matthew 6:33-34 – “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Be a firsthand report of security in Christ!
2) Make the better offering!
V4 - Abel made a better offering and was called righteous. Cain’s offering was skin deep - Genesis 4:7 - Abel’s was Righteous.
Hosea 6:6 – “For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.”
Acknowledge God!! The best you can offer! Acknowledge God! Don’t just go through the motions! Matthew 23:23
Romans 12:1-2 - getting to the heart of the matter - God wants all of you!
Isaiah - You be a firsthand report of faith!! All in for God!!
Expecting great things at OHC - God blesses faithfulness!
3) Live with great expectations!
V6 - Enoch walked with God 300years! Every day there he was walking with the unseen God.
Exodus 34:29 - You’ll shine! A firsthand report!!
How? 1) Come believing in him. 2) Expect great things to happen as you seek him!
Conclusion
People can tell authenticity! They are looking for truth and hope. Let us be the firsthand report of faith!
