OHC: How

Text: Acts 2:42-47

World builds on this common denominator - garnering a devotion that is away from God

God will also build on a common denominator - God adding on blessings to your life - adding purpose, passion, etc.

God adds on when the common denominator adds up! Q: What is the common denominator?

Two-fold - Loving God and loving each other

How do we Love God? Relationship

1) Discipleship - V42 – teaching - “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

A) “Disciple for life” - make discovery! Spiritual gifts - come in “in awe”

Psalm 119:103 - God adds on your life! You build devotion! Prov. 3:5-6

2) Worship - remembrance – prayer – praise - It’s about God! Get into God

Could you imagine God adding on to your life? What are some common denominators we think add to our lives? Security? Happiness? Love? There are two God looks for - Loving God and loving each other!

How do we love each other? Fellowship

1) Community - all believers together! This is an expression of loving God. Keep coming together! Building relationships. Snow is God‘s example of what a bunch of flakes can do!-Make your best friend! God will add on your life! You will add to others! Not moaners but encouragers!

”Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.” - H.Ford

2) Ministry - meeting together to meet needs! “ . . . gave to anyone” - evidence of Christ’s sacrificial giving!

Christmas blessing – shoeboxes - how we are doing! Our giving is an expression of God’s blessing!

Beware the detractors – security – happiness – excuses

Don’t miss God’s promise: ”Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” OHC is awesome! A heart of mercy, grace, kindness, sharing, giving, and caring – hope - opportunity to make a difference! Motivation without organization = frustration

3) Hospitality - Notice how the folks opened their homes? Serve, share, fellowship! I see this at OHC!! Building relationships in God’s love will bless God! He will add on when love adds up!

Invite someone out! Break bread together! Find someone to pray over the food! Celebrate how God is adding on in your life!

Conclusion

God is waiting to add on bodies that add up! If there is love for God and one another. Devote yourself to loving God and one another and God will add on to your life! To His church! To the Lamb’s book of life! You will be involved in the most important work in the universe!
