What’s a testimony? Firsthand authentication of a fact - an outward sign - an open acknowledgment.
We each have a testimony – Optimistic, pessimistic, genuine, phony - how we live teaches and influences our world. Christians, we are a testimony to the gospel way of life!
Text: Romans 1:14-17 A testimony of the gospel way of life - Q: How does the gospel way of life testify to the world?
1) The Gospel way testifies when you pay with your life!
V14-15 - Obligated and eager - compelled by the hope and supported by the gift! You have a life to give!
How often people pay with their lives in pursuit of the good life! We give our life to the service of God!
A) Each one gifted for the good news! B) You can find purpose! Now you’ll get motivated - inspired!
2) The Gospel way testifies because God saves your life!
V16 - Believers are saved! Delivered - We have GOOD NEWS!! God has done this! His power raised Jesus. Raised us to new life! Hope for all!
A) God is still working on me! There is hope for today! God does it not me!! B) A new confidence emerges! You believe!! No more shame! Build a testimony! Now your Father is God!! Abba father! C) TRUTH - people are waiting for hope!! D) It’s for all people!!3)The Gospel way testifies as Faith guides your life!
V17 - God reveals faith from his word! Our faith guides our life and decisions! Let God breath His faith into your life! Apply it!
A) From faith to faith - how we see our lives grow and become stronger in the faith. Heb. 11:1
B) Faith guides our lives!! People see how we live! BY FAITH!! From faith to faith!
Conclusion:
Our lives can be experiencing misdirection. Based on the news of the day. Yet Christians have a Good news way of life! It’s good news!! Authentic fact - I have a life to give! Outward sign – I’m saved!! Open acknowledgement - I have faith in God’s word!
Today let’s choose the Gospel way of life and influence the world!! What would that be like?
