Dear Friend,
Summertime is here! I love Summertime! Long days and warm nights are the norm, family reunions and picnics, summertime is a great time. Yet even then you can begin to sense a change . . . the days gradually get shorter and leaves begin to dry up and fall off trees way before fall.
Same with the spiritual life; there is change! We, followers of Jesus Christ, know change is a way of life! Becoming more and more like Jesus. I grieve as I watch some things change, though. Today I saw where a church in a nearby town has closed their doors. The people had quit! The vision had left them, and they perished! Sad! God needs people willing to change, yet many "Christians" are against change. I see another group nearby that wants to grow into the next "mega" church. Their vision is propelling them forward, and they are growing.
What about little old OHC? A church with an amazing story and a great God! A church that loves God and people! What is our vision? It is authentic! It is real! It is Biblical! We want to make "mega followers!" People completely devoted to Jesus Christ! People sold out to Jesus! People not needing to be accommodated, but needing to be equipped! This is a dangerous vision! Why? Because it will cause the enemies of the cross to get angry! I want to encourage you today, friend; there is hope! There is a God and He is mighty! He is The Most High, El Shaddai, Jehovah, Lord! He is working, too! I am excited! He is drawing people to OHC!
Please consider attending a church with an authentic vision! You'll know it when you hear it! There will be a call to change!
